Science

Our dedicated science spaces are equipped to support practical learning experiences, including investigations into forces, life cycles, states of matter and environmental sustainability. These facilities allow students to engage meaningfully with the scientific process and develop skills essential for lifelong learning.

About our Science Program

In our Science Program, students from Transition to Year 2 engage in hands-on investigations that spark curiosity and build foundational scientific thinking. They explore the world around them through observation, questioning and experimentation, guided by specialist teachers who tailor lessons to meet the Australian Curriculum. Students learn to work safely with materials and equipment, share discoveries and communicate their ideas clearly.

Students in Years 3 to 6 deepen their understanding of scientific concepts across biological, chemical, physical and Earth sciences. They plan and conduct experiments, analyse data, and draw evidence-based conclusions. Lessons encourage collaboration, critical thinking and ethical decision-making as students explore real-world applications of science.

The program is vital to:

  • fostering curiosity and a love of learning.
  • developing inquiry and analytical skills.
  • encouraging safe and responsible experimentation.
  • building knowledge of the natural and physical world.
  • supporting understanding of environmental issues.
  • preparing students for future STEM opportunities.
  • promoting teamwork and communication in scientific contexts.
