Creating opportunities

Our school has modern and contemporary facilities ensuring your child has every opportunity to engage in activities which develop academic and social skills.

As an Independent Public School we are committed to ongoing school improvement.

Classrooms

We have 31 "State of the Art" classrooms featuring WIFI capability, smart boards and technology. All classrooms are fitted with contemporary furniture which is aesthetically pleasing and conducive to high quality teaching and learning environments.

We encourage creative spaces throughout the school. In some classrooms we have agile learning spaces featuring furniture that can be changed at the drop of a hat to suit the style of the learning activity.

Bakewell has a purpose built OSHC (Outside School Hours Care) room that is used after school and during school holidays. 

Preschool

The Bakewell Primary School Early Learning Unit has two Preschool classrooms with preschool groups operating for half day sessions from Monday to Friday. Our preschool classrooms have access to the           in-ground paddling pool which is often used for wet play activities and helps preschool students to cool down during the hotter months of the year!

Library

The Bakewell Primary School Library is a learning centre for all students, teaching staff and parents. With over 45,000 resources in our library program it supports and reinforces the educational goals of the school.

Students can utilise scheduled time to read in the library or borrow books to take home and read at their leisure. Educational activities and resources are also available during lunchtime and we encourage students to engage in the planned activities held each day.

The library environment is welcoming, stimulating and engaging and provides teaching staff with curriculum based resources for teaching and learning programs. We have a Parent Resource Section available and parent borrowing is also encouraged.

Playgrounds

At Bakewell Primary School there are six different areas with playground equipment.

The Early Learning Unit has one playground area for Preschool students and another for Transition students. Playground equipment supports the students to develop emotionally, physically and socially.

The Transition Students have a playground area which encourages social interaction, building confidence and developing their self-esteem.

The other playgrounds are for students across the whole school. The playground areas are innovative and encourage social interaction with peers. Physical activities like these are good for health, fitness and physical development.

Undercover Outdoor Area

Our undercover outdoor area features two specialised courts that can be used for a variety of sports. The school stage is also located in this area and provides an ideal venue for school assemblies, the annual school performance and other community events.

Indoor Multi Purpose Area

The indoor multi purpose hall is utilised for a range of sporting activities especially gross motor programs for Transition to Year 2 students, Physical Education for all students, OSHC and Vacation Care activities and other community events.

Sports Oval

Our sporting oval is located adjacent to the undercover outdoor area. The oval is used for students to participate in different sports including athletics and rugby. It also hosts our yearly Sports Carnival and any other whole school and community events requiring a large open space.

Dental Clinic

The Dental Clinic facility ensures safe and accessible dental services for all students.
